Marcia Kort Buike is an artist and volunteer living in
Tega Cay, South Carolina. A graduate of Michigan State University, it was there
that she developed an appreciation for the arts. While running her
own computer graphics firm, she learned to apply many of the
artistic principles that she had studied. It was in 2002 that she
began to explore her painting skills when she was introduced to
watercolors by Rock Hill, SC
artist Kathy Caudill.
Marcia now works in a variety of mediums. She has exhibited her work in
both North and South Carolina. She has served as a leader in local
art organizations and in 2008 founded the Fort Mill Art Guild, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. She continues to serve the arts
community as a volunteer for the Arts Council of York County.

Support for this project is provided by the Arts Council of York County
Small Grants Program, which receives funding from the Rock Hill A-Tax/Tourism Commission,
the John and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of SC,
the SC Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
